Description This course will focus on the major pieces of: advocacy, current protective legislation; youth justice; children's rights; the rights of children in care; laws that govern Children's Mental Health; laws that govern the Education Act; and other current issues that govern the CYW profession. An overview of the Canadian political structure will be provided to enable the student to understand such issues as funding, Ministerial responsibility, and levels of government.
