Description Fabricating and repairing aircraft sheet metal is an essential job in the aircraft industry. This course is designed to instruct you on carrying out aircraft metal forming and riveting using hand and power tools. You'll learn about the use of hand tools, cutting machines, rivets, bend and forming machines, and precision measuring instruments. You'll also receive practical training in techniques for power and hand drilling, dimpling and counter sinking, riveting and rivet removal, and hand forming. Beyond this, the course will cover general topics such as bend allowance and corrosion protection.
Notes Please note:
a) CSA-approved safety boots and safety glasses will be required for lab classes.
b) A steel ruler that is graduated in 16ths, 32nds and 64ths will be also required. Bring the ruler to the first class.
c) You must possess basic math skills, i.e. ability to do fractions, decimals and simple equations.
