Description Digital literacy skills in managing information and communication technology (ICT) are imperative in today's workplace as businesses continue to utilize technology to gain competitive advantage. College graduates who can locate, gather, and organize information using appropriate technology and information systems will be able to compete for employment and be more successful in their job roles.

In this course students are introduced to spreadsheets and database software concepts. Students build technology skills as they apply formulas and functions, use pivot tables, and create charts in Excel 2019 to solve business problems, analyze data, and make decisions.

Students learn how to create and query data in Access 2019, a relational database management system and how to integrate database and spreadsheet data between Microsoft Office software programs. Students will have an opportunity to attempt the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Excel Associate Exam. MOS exams may be scheduled during class time or on weekends or evenings and must be proctored; therefore students will be provided the exam date/time early in the semester so as to arrange their schedules accordingly.
