Description The solar PV installation range of courses will provide local electricians (journeymen and apprentices) with basic solar training in the renewable energy sector. Upon completion of the courses, students will have basic knowledge of various types of solar photovoltaic modules and their sizing. They will also be able to: 1. Work with the various types of inverters and balance of systems (BOS). 2. Read drawings of solar PV installations. 3. Apply approved techniques and procedures for PV module installation. 4. Comprehend the various types of batteries and charge controllers for a photovoltaic installation. 5. Understand the techniques of installation, maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic systems.
