Description This course provides students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to identify, assess, develop and maintain an effective system for managing human resources information. The course consists of two parts, Human Resource Research and Human Resource Management Systems/ Human Resource Information Systems (HRMS/HRIS). The generation and management of human resource information to support effective decision-making is a central theme in both parts. The Human Resource Research portion of the course focuses on planning, conducting research and performing data analysis to develop strategies to address human resource problems. In the HRMS/HRIS portion of the course students will develop a through understanding of the design/acquisition, implementation and possible applications of an HRMS/HRIS.
