This course will give students an in depth look into the energy storage systems found on Hybrid and Electric bus, this course will discuss Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium-Ion battery composition and operation principles. Students will also gain knowledge into battery and cells management system; what are been monitored and the importance of battery management. Issues that can increase the potential of a thermal event and strategies to mitigate a thermal event will also be covered along with learning how to power down a battery, and confirming that the battery is off. The course will also cover testing and troubleshoot for battery faults such as loss of isolation. |
