Description | In this 120-hour long course you will apply theoretical knowledge, skills and attitudes to the practice setting in an activity department of a long-term care institution. Participate in the needs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities to meet psychosocial, physical and spiritual needs of aging adults. Also practice communication skills and implement the process of self evaluation. |
Notes | All are welcome to attend the one evening information class for the practicum. If you are ready for your practicum please bring proof of the pre-requisites for the program.

GN-100 - Overview of the Field of Aging GN-103 - Interpersonal and Group Interactions GN-110 - Introduction to Activation GN-112 - Functional Limitation on Mental Health GN-113 - Promoting Physical Abilities GN-114 - Promoting Cognitive and Social Abilities GN-111 - Physiology of Aging and Activation The prerequisite(s) listed above are strongly recommended in order to derive full benefit from the selected class, but not a requirement Immunization forms one month prior to GN-115 start date. Please bring health forms, or waiver if your work in health care, to first class. |
