Description This course will provide opportunities for students to assess and maintain a safe learning, sleeping, toileting and eating environment. Students will gain skills in menu planning, safe food handling and preparation. Consideration of Canada's Food Guide, Public Health nutritional information and food costs will be highlighted.
Public Health and Fire regulations will be explored as they apply to a home environment providing care for children 0-12 years.
Medical emergencies, forms and policies will be developed through experiential learning opportunities.
A discussion of cultural and familial expectations will be integrated throughout this course.
