Electropneumatic and Hydraulic Control Circuits  SMSC-103

Course Name: Electropneumatic and Hydraulic Control Circuits
Course Number: SMSC-103
Category: Engineering Technology & Applied Science
Description This course covers the basics of hydraulic, pneumatic, as well as electro-pneumatic components and control circuits, in a complex mechatronic system. Students will learn the construction, principle of operation, as well as function of different control devices within the system. Technical documentation such as data sheets, circuit diagrams, displacement step diagrams and function charts will also be covered.

Through analyzing the fluid power control circuits, students will learn how to correctly diagnose the areas of malfunction for effective troubleshooting. The course will also cover preventive maintenance of the mechatronic system, and safety related topics.
Notes Space is limited! Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

Please note that this course is a co-requisite with the following 2 courses. This means that all 3 courses must be taken concurrently (at the same time):

SMSC-101 Electrical Components (in-class on Tuesdays, 6:30pm-9:30pm)
SMSC-105 Electricity and Fluid Power in Mechatronics Systems (online, 1 hour per week)
