| Description | This course provides students with an overview of the contemporary museum landscape and the skills and knowledge bases required to work in it. "Museum" is used here as an umbrella term for a broad range of arts & heritage institutions, defined by their focus on collections (tangible or intangible) and a public service orientation. Course topics survey key issues in the field of practice and class activities map those topics onto professional practice competencies. Course assignments provide students with critical skills in research, analysis, professional writing and presentation, and maintaining ongoing professional development. |
